Episode 292 – The Nastiness of Lindsay Lohan’s Teeth

Posted on November 21, 2012

This Week: Kevin and Kristin gather near a cornucopia of awesome to talk about the movies of Thanksgiving week. They’re thankful for new radio affiliates and the fact that the movies aren’t giant turkeys this week. They feast on Red Dawn, Life of Pi and Rise of the Guardians before making dessert of the DVDs and Blu-ray available this week. It’s Kevin’s grand plan to make Kristin fatter. The whole “guy” thing will have to come later.

Episode 291 – Do You Have a Shiv?

Posted on November 15, 2012

This Week: Kevin and Kristin run all a-sparkle into the Magical Studio in the Sky to squeal and discuss the latest and (God help us) last Twilight movie: Breaking Dawn: Part II. But before that, Kevin shares his war stories of surviving the near-deadly Red Dawn Brawl of 2012 (which was quite possibly as crazy as the I Am Legend Scuffle Kerfuffle of 2007). They also talk about Silver Linings Playbook and Kevin gloats about his accuracy in James Bond box office predictions. Then, it’s onto the DVD Round-Up before curling up in a ball and weeping at the loss of the Twilight films from our collective popular culture.

Episode 290 – Flabulous!

Posted on November 8, 2012

This Week: Kevin and Kristin grab their Walther PPKs and slip into their formal wear to run around the world as British spies. They throw down some love for the latest James Bond picture, Skyfall, then take a somber turn to honor the 16th President of the United States with Steven Spielberg’s Lincoln. More fun is in store as they talk some lesser-known Bond rumors, start to keep track of each others’ box office predictions, read a listener email and chew through some DVD and Blu-ray recommendations.

They also weigh in about the sale of Lucasfilm to Disney and what it might mean to people in the real world. They bemoan the new film Flight after giving a brief drive-by preview of The Man with the Iron Fists. Finally, it’s some box office goodness and DVD/Blu-ray suggestions before heading off the air for another week.

Episode 288 – Weird-Speaking British Royals

Posted on October 25, 2012

This Week: Kevin and Kristin make their final preparations for Halloween. Kevin puts the finishing touches on his Slutty Bane outfit while Kristin finally breaks down and joins Twitter. They chew through four movies, only one of which was screened for press. But that movie – Cloud Atlas was enough for six movies. Other films they break down sight-unseen include Silent Hill: Revelation, Fun Size and the Gerard Butler accent-fest Chasing Mavericks. After going through some box office surprises, they run down the DVDs, during which Kevin admits to his unnatural fascination with Tinkerbell.

Episode 287 – I Need to Pull Out My Whip Again

Posted on October 18, 2012

This Week: Before they start talking scary movies, Kristin confesses that she’s looking into getting a Twitter account and now realizes it’s hard to find a good handle. Kevin weaves an interesting tale about the Disney vault. Soon, they talk about the new films of the week, both Paranormal Activity 4 and Alex Cross, pointing out Tyler Perry’s failure at being anything but Madea. Kristin and Kevin talk about the movies that scared them the most, answer a listener email and then talk about the DVDs and Blu-ray to check out or avoid.

Episode 286 – Vomit, Breasts and People Getting Hit By Buses

Posted on October 11, 2012

This Week: Kevin and Kristin Dreyer Kramer start off talking about Halloween and trick-or-treat costumes. Soon, they move to the subject of the latest scary movie, Sinister. Then things get political as Iranian extremists take over the Magical Studio in the Sky and take the hosts hostage. While trapped, Kevin and Kristin talk about Argo, then fight their way to freedom with the skillz they learned from watching Kevin James in Here Comes the Boom. Safely back home, they give a preview to Seven Psychopaths and discuss the box office before moving on to DVDs and Blu-ray and riding off into the sunset.

Episode 285 – Slutty Cupcake

Posted on October 4, 2012

This Week: Kevin and Kristin Dreyer Kramer meet up once again in the Magical Studio in the Sky for the first weekend in October, getting ready for Halloween. And you won’t believe the type of slutty Halloween costume that Kevin is planning. After they talk about a month of scary movies, Kevin and Kristin trick-and-treat about the new movies of the week, including Taken 2, Frankenweenie and the limited theatrical release of V/H/S. They also talk about weird connections between mummies and grade school textbooks, Kevin’s 31 Days of Horror, the ability of Gary Busey to outlive his co-stars and why Kevin might start wearing a tie. Then it’s all about DVDs, which includes some of Kevin’s favorite monster movies. Kristin, however, looks on questionably with pink hair and a flannel shirt.

Episode 284 – The Fattest Oompah-Loompah Ever

Posted on September 27, 2012

This Week: Long-time guest-host Kristen Dreyer Kramer joins Kevin in the Magical Studio in the Sky for a week in September that doesn’t suck with new movie releases. They chew through the releases of Hotel Transylvania, Looper, Won’t Back Down and the limited release Pitch Perfect this week. You won’t believe what was Kevin’s favorite, and you also won’t believe the bizarre connection between Looper and Kirk Cameron. They also read another piece of hate mail for Kevin, driven with rage about his review of The Master. Finally, they chat about DVDs and Blu-rays while describing how Kevin plans to retire to Willy Wonka’s Chocolate Factory.

Episode 282 – There Is One In Space

Posted on September 13, 2012

This Week: Kevin suffers through the doldrums of September movie season, inviting Mel Valentin back to the Magical Studio in the Sky to talk about the scant selection of new films. They examine the works of Paul Anderson – both Paul W.S. and PT – while they discuss both the Resident Evil films as well as the new award-bait movie The Master. There’s also a hearty discussion of Finding Nemo and its 3D re-release as well as why commenters hate Kevin because of his review. They then dive into the infamous middle segment and keep it relatively clean, talking box office and how it relates to Nicholas Cage. Then there’s a Fat Guy Five about fish movies before heading into the DVD Round-up and sending the audience along their merry way.

Episode 281 – Ikea Fantasies

Posted on September 6, 2012

This Week: Because one of the movies opening this week stars Bradley “Popsicle Eyes” Cooper, Kevin brings Dame Elisabeth Rappe back into the Magical Studio in the Sky to talk about her bizarre Ikea fantasies with the actor. They also talk about Henry Cavill and his ruling power in the Czech Republic. And speaking of the Czech Republic, they also look at the new bizarre stop-motion animated toy movie Toys in the Attic. When they careen into the infamous middle segment, things quickly derail as they discuss the sad state of American college students, how to make a pink rainbow and Elisabeth’s experiences with an accidental anti-Semite in college she lovingly referred to as “American Psycho.” They also talk about the movies they’re still looking forward to in 2012, as well as the sad state of Clint Eastwood’s sanity. The show is so packed full of stuff, some actually had to be edited out. So keep your eyes open for a bonus episode in which Kevin talks about his penchant for women’s fashion and why so many of Elisabeth’s neighbors live in the closet until they go shopping with their spouses.

Episode 280 – I Love Nipples

Posted on August 30, 2012

This Week: In the doldrums of summer, Kevin is wandering aimlessly because there were no screenings for any of the movies opening for Labor Day weekend. So he invites fellow live-tweeter Leonard Wilson into the Magical Studio in the Sky to talk about whatever they can figure out from the trailers of the movies. Later, they examine Olivia Munn’s career and what she could do to get more exposure (if you know what they mean). Then they talk about the box office of the previous week and also lay down a Fat Guy Five about children’s films that adults can enjoy as well as kids. Then, in the final segment, they run down a slew of DVDs and Blu-rays before saying good-bye for another week.

Episode 279 – Cupcake

Posted on August 23, 2012

This Week: At the dawn of a new podcasting age, Kevin invites Merrill Barr back to the Magical Studio in the Sky to look at the dog days of summer movies. They also tease their new podcast that will start in September: OSNAP. Then they look at the new movies, including Premium Rush, Hit & Run and The Apparition. After Merrill swears up a storm during the radio segments, they launch into the Internet-only segment where they develop new swear words and talk box office. Merrill gets uncomfortable with sex talk again, so they move into the Fat Guy Five about scary movies. Then what’s left is the DVD Round-Up and riding off into the sunset.

Episode 278 – Zlopp!

Posted on August 16, 2012

This Week: As Kevin looks ahead to the end of summer and sending his kids back to school, he invites mild-mannered history teacher Trevor Schoenfeld (who, on his off-hours, turns into Schofizzy the movie blogger) into the Magical Studio in the Sky. They chat about the number of new films coming out this week, including ParaNorman, Sparkle, The Expendables 2 and The Odd Life of Timothy Green. They also spend part of the first segment singing the praises of Twitter while they spend a chunk of the middle segment singing the praises of stop-motion animation. After laying down a Fat Guy Five about stop-motion animation, they lay down some classic DVD and Blu-ray picks before packing their bags and heading off to school.
