After finishing off some box office numbers, he ends the show with the Home-Cinema Round-Up, featuring John Carpenter’s Vampires.

But before that, Kevin shares his war stories of surviving the near-deadly Red Dawn Brawl of 2012 (which was quite possibly as crazy as the I Am Legend Scuffle Kerfuffle of 2007). They also talk about Silver Linings Playbook and Kevin gloats about his accuracy in James Bond box office predictions. Then, it’s onto the DVD Round-Up before curling up in a ball and weeping at the loss of the Twilight films from our collective popular culture.

Episode 264 – The Coolest Moment Ever

This Week: Fully in the wake of The Avengers afterglow, Kevin invites fellow podcaster and movie blogger Rudie Obias (or as Kevin fondly refers to him, Rudio-O!) into the Magical Studio in the Sky to get all creepy and gothic and stuff. They geek out a little bit more about The Avengers, but soon talk about the latest Tim Burton/Johnny Depp collaboration, Dark Shadows. After dissecting this modern vampire comedy, they move into the infamous middle segment where they look at box office and ponder the question as to whether The Avengers will score more than $100 million in its second weekend. Using fewer run-on sentences than this summary, they also give a Fat Guy Five about great cinematic vampires. Then it’s some DVD and Blu-ray recommendations before heading off into the night.

Episode 239 – That’s Grosser Than Anything I Could Have Said

This Week: In order to combat the estrogen explosion in the movie theaters this weekend with The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part I, Kevin invites Dame Elisabeth Rappe into the Magical Studio in the Sky for the female perspective. However, she’s not a fan, and they end up dissecting the movie with more precision than Edward’s vampires teeth on Bella’s uterus. They also break down Happy Feet Two and examine whether cute penguins and snappy dance numbers can actually make a good movie (spoiler alert… they can’t). Then they respond to a listener voice mail and lay down a Fat Guy Five about movie birth scenes, and not in the good way.
