Posted on August 1, 2014

This Week: Kevin takes aim at a couple things in this episode, namely backwards-minded studios who still think that reviewers only have an audience in the city where they live. But before his rants about that, he talks about some news and moves into the reviews of Guardians of the Galaxy, Get on Up, I Origins, Life Itself and the ambitious but disappointing Boyhood. Kevin also ponders whether dumb action movies with women are still okay for feminism and what you can pick up on DVD and Blu-ray this week.

Episode 338 – Wookiee Mouse

Posted on October 10, 2013

This Week: Kristin and Kevin continue with the Halloween banter and actually get a chance to talk about a horror movie again for October. But first, they take a look at the big movies Captain Phillips and Machete Kills. They also revisit All the Boys Love Mandy Lane from a press screening in 2007. There’s also a drive-by on the new Romeo and Juliet film, and Kevin expresses his desires for the movie to have more robots and monsters in it (along with his desire for Captain Phillips to be about Popeye). They also chew through some movie news (with a nod to a Star Wars story) and some DVD and Blu-ray recommendations.

Episode 312 – I Made You a Sammich

Posted on April 11, 2013

This Week: Kevin and Kristin start off with their box office recap in which Kevin declares victory that might be deserved by Kristin. Then, the duo offers a nice tribute to Roger Ebert before reviewing the new films: 42 and Scary Movie 5. Later, Kevin analyzes the oppressive messages within Tyler Perry’s Temptation before the two answer a listener voice mail. Finally, it’s some DVD and Blu-ray recommendations before heading off into the sunset for one more week.
