The 10 Worst Films of 2012

While publicists and the film industry itself eagerly await the bevy of Best Films lists from critics, they’re less excited about our lists for the bottom of the barrel. But when there’s arguably more films that can make it on a Worst Films list, this can be a cathartic act for people like me. Where my Best Films list inevitably contains several animated titles, a new trend has shown up on my Worst Films list. Check out numbers 1, 2 and 3 and question whether I want to see another shaky-cam movie in the near future.

The Idiot Boxers – Episode 60

In this very special episode: It’s another light week for TV watching in the summer, but that doesn’t stop the Idiots from gathering in the Magical Studio in the Sky to talk TV news and other sundry things. They start off with Merrill giving his thoughts on being a real-life production assistant. Later, Kevin moves on to make fun of Merrill for not knowing his cinematic Shakespeare. This leads to other age tests, most of which Merrill surprisingly passes. Later, they talk about the scant TV shows of the past two week. Kevin blows Merrill’s mind in regards to Burn Notice, and they both talk about not getting anything blown while watching HBO’s Real Sex. There’s also TV news, DVD Recommendations and a special Kevin Carr shout-out to Falling Skies.

The Idiot Boxers – Episode 53

In this very special episode: Even though there has been plenty happening in on television, the Idiots slow down a bit and realize there hasn’t been a ton of interesting things happening, aside from Merrill catching the superflu and fighting back coughing fits sparked by Kevin’s awesomeness. That doesn’t stop them from ranting about crazy teens and the Project X effect, St. Patty’s Day and oral sex. They also go through a nice slice of television news before moving on to actual reviews of shows. Then it’s a Sound-Off frenzy as they throw down three topics before offering some DVD options and recommendations.

Fat Guy 5: Five Reasons Why Found Footage Should Be Lost

On This Episode: Because the last episode was such a runaway hit with fans and haters of Chronicle, Kevin decided to reunite with Steve “Gabe” Reeves in the Magical Studio in the Sky to sound off about the overuse of the found footage genre. They know it basically prints money for the studios, but Kevin and Steve are tired of the entire found footage nonsense. So, they list the five main reasons why the entire genre should be lost again.

Episode 254 – It Wasn’t Scratch-and-Sniff

This Week: For the week after the Oscars, Kevin invites Nick Herum from MoviesHateYouToo.com to join him in the Magical Studio in the Sky for some intellectual discussion about this week’s films. Unfortunately, things derail fast in the third segment, which Kevin and Nick blame on the celluloid abortion known as Project X. There’s a brief moment of sensibility as they also talk about The Lorax, though the show is dominated by talk about extreme fetish pornography, gay racist Klingons and Shweddy Balls. They also chat a little about the Oscars and Kevin lists his favorite Dr. Seuss books. Then it’s into the final segment to talk DVDs and to give Nick a chance to swear on the radio.
