The Idiot Boxers – Episode 64: Series Finale

In this very extra special episode: The Idiots say good-bye to the listeners and the bi-weekly podcast of The Idiot Boxers. But fear not… they will be returning in the fall with a brand new podcast, so watch this feed closely. Merrill will live on to annoy Kevin, and Kevin will have plenty of new chances to make fun of Merrill for various reasons. But before all that nonsense, the Idiots finish out their two-and-a-half-year run with sad news, talking about the shocking and untimely death of Tony Scott. After reminiscing about the director’s life and career, Kevin and Merrill talk about TV news and the wrap-up of the summer shows. Then it’s on to the final Sound-Off and the last Idiot Recommendations before giving the listeners a treat: a taste of what’s to come in the new podcast.

The Idiot Boxers – Episode 63

In this very special episode: The Idiots get set to make a very special announcement, but you’ll have to wait for the end of the episode for this. Before the announcement is made, the Idiots talk about crazy boutique shops in Long Island, being fat and 40 at an amusement park, pillow-and-blanket forts and why Kevin’s kids like it when daddy drinks. Then, they move on to TV news with some insights into new shows in development. In the third segment, the Idiots review the shows of the last two weeks and weigh in (a little late) on whether it’d be funny or not if Daniel Tosh were raped right now. Finally, the Idiots lay down some DVD suggestions and a charming Idiot Recommendation. Then there’s that announcement at the end. (Spoiler: Kevin’s not pregnant.)

The Idiot Boxers – Episode 62

In this very special episode: The Idiots hit a variety of topics this week, starting with some reactions to the Aurora theater shootings and shaming people on both sides of the aisle for politicizing the tragedy. They also rip box office whore Nikki Finke a couple new ones for her reporting on the event. (Note: If you want to skip these elements of the podcast, scoot ahead to the 22:00 mark to hear the normal Idiot Boxers shenanigans.) Then the Idiots talk about other things that have been on their minds, including traffic accidents, kids playing poker and anal sex. Then the Idiots move on to talk about just a few items of TV news and an iTunes review. After reviewing a handful of shows, Kevin has a sound-off and DVD recommendations while Merrill gives a shout-out to a new web series in the Idiot Recommendations.

In this very special episode: The idiocy continues in the Magical Studio in the Sky as Merrill complains about the shenanigans surrounding the 4th of July while Kevin talks about losing his power and watching every single goddamn James Bond movie in the main series. They also chat a little about television news and review some shows, but not before Kevin curses anyone who follows the Kardashians on Facebook or Twitter. Sometimes you have to think Kevin is trying to get Merrill to either laugh or get angry. Of course, he manages to send Merrill off the rails by relaying a story about his son, related to the latest episode of Louie. (Hint: It’s not what you think, you perverts!) Finally, they talk about DVDs and Idiot Recommendations, then dance off into the sunset.

The Idiot Boxers – Episode 40

In this very special episode: Because God has it out for Merrill (or at least that was his theory last week) and Hurricane Irene caused a delay in production scheduling, the Idiots decide to do a new show this week as well. Welcome to Idiot Boxers 3.0, or as we like to call it: Idiot Boxers Season Three. They restructure the show to streamline the reviews and have more chit chat (which is code for “Kevin berating Merrill”). They pay their respect to the victims of 9/11, then they celebrate Kevin’s 40th birthday. As the summer series all wrap up, the Idiots prep for a new season of television. Then Kevin breaks Merrill’s heart by declaring his love of Community.

In this very special episode: Apparently Mother Nature is not a fan of The Idiot Boxers because she sent Hurricane Irene up the east coast to knock out Merrill’s power for an entire week. Mere hours after power was restored, the Idiots were back online and talking about TV… well, after a half hour of recounting Hurricane Irene stories flavored with the spicy, hot bitterness of Starbucks. Then, Kevin chimed in with a grand story of an $11,500 burrito. Eventually, the Idiots moved on to what sucked and what rocked, along with TV news and a couple sound-offs, which includes a scathing review of Hulu+.
