Episode 323 – No Poop in the Sink

This Week: Kristin and Kevin prepare for the upcoming 4th of July week by chanting “U! S! A! U! S! A!” in the Magical Studio in the Sky and painting Kevin’s belly red, white and blue. But before all that happens, they look at the box office and Kevin takes another stab at a victory dance. They hit on some big news stories about Liam Neeson in Tak3n, the stupidly-named Independence Day sequel and the premium movie theater seating experiment. Later, Kevin reviews White House Down, but first Kristin goes on an rant about The Heat that lasts an entire segments. Finally, they suggest some good 4th of July movies and give scant DVD and Blu-ray recommendations.

10 Actors Who Should Have Won the Oscar But Didn’t

Art is subjective, as is the appreciation for it and the accolades thrust upon it. This is no more evident that during award season each year, in which every film critic, entertainment journalism outfit and average moviegoer throws in their two cents as to what were the best and worst of the previous year.

The Academy Awards are famous for the nomination snubs (such as this year’s snubbing of Ben Affleck and Kathyrn Bigelow for Best Director), but less remembered are the performances that should have won but didn’t. Reasons for this range from the age of the average Academy voter to the sheer politics of the industry.

From the more-than eight decades of the Oscars, here is a look at some people who should have won Best Actor but did not.

This Week: Kevin and Kristin Dreyer Kramer meet up once again in the Magical Studio in the Sky for the first weekend in October, getting ready for Halloween. And you won’t believe the type of slutty Halloween costume that Kevin is planning. After they talk about a month of scary movies, Kevin and Kristin trick-and-treat about the new movies of the week, including Taken 2, Frankenweenie and the limited theatrical release of V/H/S. They also talk about weird connections between mummies and grade school textbooks, Kevin’s 31 Days of Horror, the ability of Gary Busey to outlive his co-stars and why Kevin might start wearing a tie. Then it’s all about DVDs, which includes some of Kevin’s favorite monster movies. Kristin, however, looks on questionably with pink hair and a flannel shirt.

They chat about the new films of hte week, then move into the infamous middle segment where they chew the fat about Sundance. Kevin also blows holes in the “Kevolution” that the lesser Kevin (Smith) claims to have created. They also weigh on on the Oscar nominations and lay down a Fat Guy Five about Man vs. Nature films. Then it’s off to the DVD Round-up, where Rob Hunter declares human trafficking to be “good fun.” Yikes!
