Episode 60 – Fat Street Kings Go to Prom

Posted on April 11, 2008

On This Week’s Show: Neil and Kevin break out the corsages and tuxedos to get ready for their big Prom Night. They also learn how to be Street Kings from a racist Keanu Reeves and see if they can out-smart Ellen Page and Dennis Quaid from Smart People. Neil admits to wanting to make out with both Keanu Reeves and Michael Bay while Kevin prepares to defend Uwe Boll. It’s a mess of springtime shenanigans with the Fat Guys at the movies.

Films Reviewed this Week: Street Kings, Smart People and Prom Night… with a tease for Zombie Strippers.

Episode 59 – Fat Guys in Ruins

Posted on April 4, 2008

On This Week’s Show: Neil and Kevin begin to slim down with the Biggest Reject Loser Challenge, but still vow to keep some fat so they don’t have to rename the show. We also serve witty banter over a discussion of love and football for Leatherheads, take a trip to Nim’s Island, freak out over evil weeds in The Ruins (while drooling over Laura Ramsey and her fabulous breasts) and wonder whose bright idea it was to put Mick Jagger’s wrinkly mug on an IMAX screen. Oh, and the uber-cool Gerard Butler chats with Kevin about Neil’s mom’s obsession with… Gerard Butler.

Films Reviewed this Week: Leatherheads, Nim’s Island, The Ruins and Shine a Light.

Episode 58 – Run Fat Guys Run

Posted on March 28, 2008

On This Week’s Show: We get Stop-lossed by a few bad movies, including one that was made under the MTV Films label (Stop-Loss) and another that might as well have been (21). We also take on the wonder that is Simon Pegg in his latest film, Run Fatboy Run, a concept that speaks directly to us — we just aren’t listening. We also run through our April Movie Preview, giving you a good list of the films you should be marking on your calendar — as well, we expose Kevin’s undying love for UFC fighters in bikini bottoms. Oh, and there is another stupid parody movie coming out — we take a moment to explain the pile of suck that is Superhero Movie.

Films Reviewed this Week: Run Fatboy Run, Superhero Movie, Stop-Loss and 21.

Episode 57 – Back in the Studio

Posted on March 22, 2008

On This Week’s Show: Neil is back from SXSW with plenty of stories from the streets of Austin, Texas. He recaps for Kevin the Ten Best Movies of SXSW 2008 and talks about his newfound affection for indie rock chicks. As well, the guys talk about crappy J-Horror movies, Judd Apatow movies for kids and more Tyler Perry movies. Be afraid, the Fat Guys are back to full force this week. Hide the women and children.

Films Reviewed this Week: Drillbit Taylor, Shutter and Meet the Browns.

Episode 56 – Fat Guys Hear a Who

Posted on March 14, 2008

On This Week’s Show: This week, Neil Miller is still in Austin, stalking indie rock chicks and Kristen Bell. David Medsker from Bullz-eye.com drops by the Magical Studio in the Sky to keep Kevin company and talk about everything from kind elephants to deranged psychopaths who torment vacationing families. On the show, Kevin and Dave show some love for Horton Hears a Who, show some hatred for Funny Games and show some indifference to Never Back Down. And Neil chimes in with a poorly engineered yet very insightful update from SXSW. Fellow fat guys Brian Gibson from FSR and Peter Sciretta from /Film are Neil’s guests.

Episode 55 – Fat By Fat West

Posted on March 7, 2008

On This Week’s Show: This week, Neil Miller escapes the Magical Studio in the Sky, leaving only a swishy sock puppet to take his place. Kristin Dryer Kramer from NightsAndWeekends.com swoops in to fill his chair while Kevin struggles with his new diet. On the show, Kevin and Kristin talk about well-spoken cavemen in 10,000 B.C., try to muster up some love for Martin Lawrence and rock out to the tunes from The Bank Job. And they make lotsa fun of Neil, who has headed off to Austin for SXSW.

Episode 54 – Get the Funk Outta Here

Posted on February 29, 2008

On This Week’s Show: We are without guest, but not without some things to say. From the Jerry Springer-esque Other Boleyn Girl to Will Ferrell’s ridiculous basketball comedy Semi-Pro, we break down all the weekend’s releases. We also stray from talking about Miley Cyrus, but somehow find a way to be offensive. Look out Barack Obama, we are coming for you! We also run through our Oscar reactions, including how we felt about David Bowie winning Best Supporting Actress. And… Diablo Cody naked.

Films Reviewed this Week: The Other Boleyn Girl, Diary of the Dead, Penelope and Semi-Pro.

Episode 53 – The Big Fat Oscar Special

Posted on February 22, 2008

On This Week’s Show: Kevin is back in the Magical Studio in the Sky for more shenanigans. We also find out just why he was in California, and as suspected, it has something to do with little children. Film School Rejects Associate Editor Brian Gibson joins us as well to talk about the week’s releases as well as help break down all the nominees for Hollywood’s big night, the Oscars. In honor of There Will Be Blood, we also drink your milkshake — and give our predictions for who will take home little golden men on Sunday night.

Episode 52 – Too Legit to Get Served

Posted on February 15, 2008

On This Week’s Show: Kevin has left the magical studio in the sky, leaving Neil and guest host David Medsker of Bullz-Eye.com to fend for themselves. Even in his absence though, Kevin cannot escape the quips about his odd love of children’s television programming as the guys review The Spiderwick Chronicles. They also talk Jumper, and decide that they can come up with 8 alternate career opportunities for Hayden Christensen, as acting doesn’t seem to be working out so well. And finally, they run down the long list of news this week, including but not limited to talking about Miley Cyrus. Go figure.

Films Reviewed this Week: Jumper, The Spiderwick Chronicles, Step Up 2 the Streets and Definitely, Maybe.

Episode 51 – Miley Cyrus, Paris Hilton and Lesbianism. Yes!

Posted on February 8, 2008

On This Week’s Show: We anticipate the future release of the Miley Cyrus sex tape, but not before celebrating her big win at the box office last week. Speaking of sex tapes, we talk about how Paris Hilton’s The Hottie and the Nottie would be more interesting if it involved her with her clothes off and some guy’s… Nevermind. Kevin trashes yet another Martin Lawrence joint, solidifying his badboy/racist reputation. Other topics are talked about (including Zack Galifinakis joining the “Stop Dane Cook” movement), other shenanigans ensue.

Films Reviewed this Week: Welcome Home Roscoe Jenkins, Fool’s Gold, The Hottie and the Nottie and Vince Vaughn’s Wild West Comedy Show.

Episode 50 – A Reunion of Sorts

Posted on January 31, 2008

On This Week’s Show: Neil returns from the very snowy, celebrity filled mountains of Utah to boast about rubbing elbows with Colin Farrell at the Sundance Film Festival. He also brings back a list of ten films that everyone should keep an eye on. The guys then review a bunch of films that neither of them have seen — further proof that studios fear their clout. Or their girth.

Films Reviewed this Week: Over Her Dead Body, Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus: The Best of Both Worlds, The Eye and Strange Wilderness.

Episode 49 – How She Meet the Untraceable Rambo

Posted on January 25, 2008

On This Week’s Show: Neil is still boycotting the magical studio in the sky
for some time in Park City, so Kevin welcomes Jason Zingale from
Bullz-Eye.com as our featured guest. Together, Kevin and Jason set out to
offend everyone – from AIDS-infected prostitutes to Dolph Lundgren. And
while they have to guess on Rambo and Meet the Spartans (which weren’t
screened for critics), they weigh in on How She Move and Untraceable.

Episode 47 – Target Practice

Posted on January 11, 2008

On This Week’s Show: We go after our favorite targets in Hollywood — all the people we love to hate, but wouldn’t miss if they were eaten by the Cloverfield monster. Tracy Morgan, Uwe Boll and even Dane Cook — no one is safe from the wrath of two fat guys. We also pitch the next big reality TV show, a spinoff of 2Girls1Cup. Oh, and we talk about this week’s terrible releases and run through the news of the week. Be afraid Hollywood, be very afraid.

Films Reviewed this Week: The Pirates Who Don’t Do Anything: A Veggie Tales Movie, First Sunday and In the Name of the King: A Dungeon Siege Tale.
