This Week: Kevin offers an alternate take on the intense overhyping of Wonder Woman, but first he gives Kathy Griffin (and those offended by Kathy Griffin as well as those offended by those being offended by Kathy Griffin) the what for. For the reviews, 9-year-old Nicholas Carr makes a triumphant return to the Magical Studio in the Sky to talk about Captain Underpants. Of course, there’s a whole segment about Wonder Woman, including a review and an analysis of the hype surrounding the film. Later, Kevin looks at the new film The Wedding Plan and offers and analysis of the box office, finalizing things with the Home Cinema Round-Up with The Ticket.

This Week: As Kevin girds his loins for the much-anticipated release of The Dark Knight Rises, he invites fellow Film School Reject Brian Salisbury to join him in the Magical Studio in the Sky to talk about the latest Batman installment. They also throw down about various fanboy battles, including where they stand on Star Wars, Indiana Jones, M. Night Shyamalan’s career and James Bond theme songs. After dissecting The Dark Knight Rises in a very spoiler-free way (though there might be an Inception spoiler or two in there) before answering a listener email and laying out the Fat Guy Five about overhyped films. Then it’s on to the last segment, where they recommend some DVDs and fly off into the night using their Batarangs.

Having both seen the two new movies this week, more reviewing actually happens on this show than ever before. While Kevin and Alonso may agree about some things for this weekend, they discover other films for which their opinions don’t quite jive. Still, that doesn’t stop them from handing down a Fat Guy Five about good Jim Carrey movies, recommending off-the-wall foreign films and answering some cogent listener feedback. Then there’s the DVD segment, which puts the focus on the real enemy… Tori Spelling.
