WORTH BUYING

Sicario
Rated R
Studio: Lionsgate
Formats available: BD, DVD, VOD
My pick for the best film of 2015, this thriller about the drug war on the U.S.-Mexico border is shot like a horror movie, featuring fantastic performances by Benecio Del Toro and Josh Brolin.

Infinitely Polar Bear
Rated R
Studio: Sony Pictures Classics
Formats available: BD, DVD, VOD
Another one of the best films of 2015, Maya Forbes’ partly autobiographical story of a family dealing with bipolar disorder without marginalizing the condition or vilifying it.

WORTH RENTING

The Walk
Rated PG-13
Studio: TriStar
Formats available: BD, DVD, VOD
If you can ignore Joseph Gordon-Levitt’s terrible accent and the film’s weak first act, this is a relatively fun and light-hearted look at Philippe Petit’s daring high-wire walk between the Twin Towers. Of course, it will lose a lot on the small screen, considering the best way to view it was in IMAX 3D.

Sleeping with Other People
Rated R
Studio: Paramount
Formats available: BD, DVD, VOD
A fun sex comedy starring Allison Brie and Jason Sudeikis as two emotionally-challenged individuals trying to find love in a world where sex is a passive commodity.

The Green Inferno
Rated R
Studio: Universal
Formats available: BD, DVD, VOD
Eli Roth finally releases his notorious cannibal film, which works well at some points and becomes laughable at others. Still, if you want to check out the infamous Cannibal Holocaust tribute, now is your chance.

strong>The Visit
Rated PG-13
Studio: Universal
Formats available: BD, DVD, VOD
M. Night Shyamalan plays off childhood fears as a brother and sister visit their grandparents for the first time. Too bad, it’s shot in a found footage style.
