fatguysatthemovies_banner

This Week: In an effort to show how worldly Fat Guys at the Movies is, Kevin invites Jamaican bloggger Andrew Robinson (from www.gmanreviews.com) into the Magical Studio in the Sky for the first international broadcast of the podcast. Even though Andrew hasn’t seen the movies this week, Kevin takes a chance to shoot some warning shots over the bow of the new Justin Bieber movie and Adam Sandler. Kevin and Andrew wax poetic about Gnomeo and Juliet and The Eagle. They also share their thoughts on box office, trailer spoilers and which Adam Sandler movies are actually entertaining.

This Week: Neil makes a triumphant return to the Magical Studio in the Sky while Kevin hits the flux capacitor to take the entire audience on a time travel adventures. With this episode, the Fat Guys hit the milestone of a 200th episode, which is damn near four years in your ears. Scary, huh? Kevin and Neil reminisce about starting the show on March 30, 2007 in a car, leading them to their status as podcasting legends. They also take some time to chat about Sanctum 3D and The Roommate as well as answering a listener voicemail. Then it’s a look back at the last 200 episodes with some well-wishes from friends of the show as well as the Fat Guy Five: Five Favorite Fat Guy Memories.

The Idiot Boxers – Episode 24

Posted on January 31, 2011

In this very special episode: Just because Kevin is recovering from a bad case of strep throat doesn’t mean he can’t be an Idiot. Together with Merrill, they talk about all things orange, bacterial infections, what constitutes pornography on television and all there was that sucked and rocked on the boob tube these past few weeks. Merrill sounds off about awkward TV theme song transitions, and Kevin looks back a the UK version of The Office. Then it’s a batch of TV-on-DVD and Idiot Recommendations before the Idiots crawl away in shame for yet another couple weeks.

Episode 198 – Titillating and Scintillating

Posted on January 20, 2011

fatguysatthemovies_banner

This Week: The Fat Guys affirm that they are friends but prefer to get their benefits elsewhere. But that doesn’t stop Neil from gushing over Natalie Portman like a chubby fifteen-year-old at Comic-Con. Kevin pooh-poohs the movie because he didn’t get a chance to see it, and he bemoans the fact that Neil has seen more movies this week. They also talk about Peter Weir and how flabbergasted Neil is by him, plus some wah-boo-hooing about The Company Men. Finally, after some box office predictions and a voice mail, they lay down a Fat Guy Five about which Hollywood hotties they’d like to have as friends with benefits.

The Idiot Boxers – Episode 23

Posted on January 17, 2011

In this very special episode: The Idiots start off the show by chewing the fat to cover up the fact that there really wasn’t that much to watch these past few weeks. But they manage to talk about the things that rocked and the things that sucked. In particular, they take aim at some of the modern sci-fi and superhero television shows available on the dial. The Idiots also lay down some TV news, including what’s on the bubble, why Glee can have Justin Bieber and whether the Kennedys can take down basic cable television. Finally, they end with some DVD picks, recommendations and why Merrill is infuriated by sunglasses.
