The Idiot Boxers – Episode 46

In this very special episode: The Idiots are recovering from Thanksgiving and Black Friday, crawling back into the depths of the living while watching as many TV shows as they can (well, as many as Merrill can while Kevin tries to fit in as many as possible between award films). They chat about how their holiday season has been going, including why Merrill shouldn’t be allowed on the freeway and how Kevin hands out Turkey Day advice about embracing your fetishes. They roll through some scant movie news before chatting about the shows they’re watching, sound off about a few things that annoy them and give some DVD suggestions and an idiot recommendation.

Episode 241 – Cottage Cheese and Hairy Buttocks

This Week: In the wake of the holiday weekend, shopping stampedes and pepper sprayings at Wal-Mart, Kevin invites Jared Zimney from Movies in the Mancave back into the Magical Studio in the Sky. With no major wide releases opening in theaters this week, Kevin and Jared chat about some of the limited releases and award films, including The Descendants, Marsha Marsha Marsha and Shame. Later in the show, Kevin extols the virtues of not wearing pants, they rip on Twilight a little bit more and lay down a Fat Guy Five about the most anticipated movies of December. Then it’s the DVD Round-Up before they say good-bye for another week.

Episode 240 – Sex Ed From Someone Famous

This Week: Getting set for Thanksgiving week, Kevin decides to keep everything in the family this week… including the guests of the show. So he invites his sons Liam (age 10 years old) and Ben (age 8 years old) to give the kids’ perspective on all the family movies out this week. They chat about Arthur Christmas, Hugo and all things Muppets, both new and old. Then they send Ben to bed before tackling box office predictions and learning a little about puberty. Sanity returns at the end of the middle segment with the Fat Guy Five: Five Favorite Muppet Moments. Then it’s the DVD Round-Up, and they send you away with a message of Thanksgiving. (Not really… they forgot the Thanksgiving message, but it probably would have been food-related, anyway.)

After a meaty segment about the good shows on TV, they head into the Sound-Off segment and the DVD recommendations. However, she’s not a fan, and they end up dissecting the movie with more precision than Edward’s vampires teeth on Bella’s uterus. They also break down Happy Feet Two and examine whether cute penguins and snappy dance numbers can actually make a good movie (spoiler alert… they can’t). Then they respond to a listener voice mail and lay down a Fat Guy Five about movie birth scenes, and not in the good way.
