This Week: Kevin shows off his ninja movie reviewing skillz by chopping through the August sewer of bad movies. First, he talks about some superhero news and reacts to so many DC and Marvel movies coming out. Then, he looks at the new trailers for the week. Finally, he rattles through the new releases, including Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, The Hundred-Foot Journey, Into the Storm, Step Up: All In and After. Episode 380 – Two Chewbaccas!

Posted on August 1, 2014

fatguysatthemovies2_banner

This Week: Kevin takes aim at a couple things in this episode, namely backwards-minded studios who still think that reviewers only have an audience in the city where they live. But before his rants about that, he talks about some news and moves into the reviews of Guardians of the Galaxy, Get on Up, I Origins, Life Itself and the ambitious but disappointing Boyhood. Kevin also ponders whether dumb action movies with women are still okay for feminism and what you can pick up on DVD and Blu-ray this week.

Posted on July 25, 2014

fatguysatthemovies2_banner

This Week: Kevin gets set to offend the women in the audience for dissing the new trailer for Fifty Shades of Grey. For good measure, he also has a few things to say about the trailer for Dear White People just in case there aren’t enough people mad at him. But first, he explains why he doesn’t go to the San Diego Comic-Con, then talks about some news from the event. Later, he reviews the new movies Hercules, Lucy, And So It Goes and Wish I Was Here before also giving his final thoughts on Dawn of the Planet of the Apes. Then, he’s left with box office and the DVD Round-Up before riding off into the sunset.

fatguysatthemovies2_banner

This Week: Kevin does the show this week from the city of Jerusalem, Israel, where he is covering the Jerusalem Film Festival. Because the festival is just kicking off and the gala opening was postponed a week for security reasons, there is little to report aside from the wonder of the foreign city an what it has to offer. A full report will be on deck for next week, discussing the growth and impact of Israeli cinema. In the mean time, Kevin previews Boyhood and Dawn of the Planet of the Apes while reviewing The Class of ’92 in honor of the World Cup. Kevin also chats about some release and MPAA news before giving his take on the 17-minute preview of The Guardians of the Galaxy. Finally, he wraps things up with a look at the box office and the world-famous DVD Round-Up!

Episode 372 – Oh My God on Game of Thrones!

Posted on June 6, 2014

fatguysatthemovies2_banner

This Week: Death and pestilence comes to the Magical Studio in the Sky! Fortunately, Kevin has beaten back the pestilence and is now fighting the good fight with a raspy Demi Moore voice and no shirt. But there’s nothing to do about the death, which is inherent in almost all of the movies this week: Edge of Tomorrow, The Fault of Our Stars, Obvious Child, The Sacrament and Anna! It’s only Burt’s Buzz that keeps things light and fluffy. Kevin talks oodles of Star Wars and superhero news before later rattling off some sure-to-be genius box office predictions and the world-famous DVD Round-Up!
