<p>This week, for the Fat Guy 5, we take a break from superhero movies. After all, there are plenty of lists out there about best superhero movies, superheroes who can kick ass and why <em>Kick-Ass</em> is the most awesomest fanboy film since <em>Watchmen</em>. Instead, the Fat Guys have broken with the status quo and are delivering a Fat Guy 5 inspired by <em>Death at a Funeral</em>.</p>
<p>This new&#8230; er, sort of new film shows us that not only can death be funny, but death in a movie can be hilarious. And that got us thinking about some of the bests movie deaths around. The rest is history&#8230;</p>
<p><span id="more-1671"></span></p>
<p align="center"><img src="http://media.filmschoolrejects.com/audio/kevinaudio/divbar.jpg" /></p>
<p><strong>5. Brad Pitt in <em>Meet Joe Black</em>(1998)</strong></p>
<p>It may be an awful thing to happen to someone in real life, but watching a character in a movie get hit by a bus, car or train just makes us giggle. And while this was supposed to be shocking, it was probably one of the funniest moments of the year when this film came out. (Also a quick shout out to Amanda Detmer&#8217;s death scene in the original <em>Final Destination</em>, which was almost as awesome.)</p>
<p><center><br />
<object width="425" height="258"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/VDdN_b6TjYo&#038;hl=en_US&#038;fs=1&#038;"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/VDdN_b6TjYo&#038;hl=en_US&#038;fs=1&#038;" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="258"></embed></object><br />
</center></p>
<p align="center"><img src="http://media.filmschoolrejects.com/audio/kevinaudio/divbar.jpg" /></p>
<p><strong>4. Lizzy Caplan in <em>Cloverfield </em>(2008)</strong></p>
<p>We loves us some Lizzy Caplan, and even running from a huge American Godzilla monster, she&#8217;s just plain adorable. That is, until she succumbs to alien parasite death. Gross as hell and shocking in the film, but still funny. Yeah&#8230; it is still funny. (And a double-shout-out to <em>LOST</em> for a couple of unfortunate folks who handled unstable dynamite.)</p>
<p><center><br />

<p></center></p>
<p align="center"><img src="http://media.filmschoolrejects.com/audio/kevinaudio/divbar.jpg" /></p>
<p><strong>3. Wallace Shawn in <em>The Princess Bride </em>(1987)</strong></p>
<p>Just remember&#8230; Never go against a Sicilian when death is on the line!</p>
<p><center><br />
<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/3EkBuKQEkio&#038;hl=en_US&#038;fs=1&#038;"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/3EkBuKQEkio&#038;hl=en_US&#038;fs=1&#038;" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object><br />
</center></p>
<p align="center"><img src="http://media.filmschoolrejects.com/audio/kevinaudio/divbar.jpg" /></p>
<p><strong>2. The Swordsman in <em>Raiders of the Lost Ark </em>(1981)</strong></p>
<p>What was to be a long, drawn-out fight scene was improvised into one of the funniest moments of the original Indiana Jones films.</p>
<p><center><br />
<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/JMLIOtBLqoU&#038;hl=en_US&#038;fs=1&#038;"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/JMLIOtBLqoU&#038;hl=en_US&#038;fs=1&#038;" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object><br />
</center></p>
<p align="center"><img src="http://media.filmschoolrejects.com/audio/kevinaudio/divbar.jpg" /></p>
<p><strong>1. The Magic Trick in <em>The Dark Knight </em>(2008)</strong></p>
<p>Back in 2008, this topped our list of movie moments for the year, and it still gives us a chuckle now. This poor guy didn&#8217;t even have a line, and no one would recognize him on the street, but he contributed to a great death at the hands of Heath Ledger&#8217;s fantastic Joker.</p>

<p>Steve Carell and Tina Fey have teamed up to deliver a great date night movie, appropriately called <em>Date Night</em>. And that got us Fat Guys thinking while this movie is great for a real date night, there are plenty of film out there that are not.</p>
<p>So, as a public service, we have compiled a list of five movies you really don’t want to take a date to&#8230; unless they’re into that sort of thing.</p>
<p><span id="more-1635"></span></p>
<p align="center"><img src="http://media.filmschoolrejects.com/audio/kevinaudio/divbar.jpg" /></p>
<p><strong>5. <em>The Last House on the Left </em>(1972 &#038; 2009)</strong><br />
<center> <img width="400" src="http://media.filmschoolrejects.com/audio/kevinaudio/fatguyfive/lasthouseontheleft_fatguyfive.jpg" title="The Last House on the Left" /></center></p>
<p>The original poster tells you to keep saying, “It’s only a movie&#8230; it’s only a movie&#8230; it’s only a movie&#8230;” But if you take a date to this grisly it-could-happen-to-you horror movie, you might be repeating, “It’s only a bad choice&#8230; it’s only a bad choice&#8230; it’s only a bad choice&#8230;” Hint: brutal rape scenes in movies generally result in an awkward drive home. (See also #1 below.)</p>
<p align="center"><img src="http://media.filmschoolrejects.com/audio/kevinaudio/divbar.jpg" /></p>
<p><strong>4. <em>He&#8217;s Just Not That Into You </em>(2009)</strong><br />
<center><img width="400" src="http://media.filmschoolrejects.com/audio/kevinaudio/fatguyfive/hesjustnotthatintoyou_fatguyfive.jpg" title="He's Just Not That Into You" /></center></p>
<p>Considered a non-love story, this movie was definitely marketed to the female audience, but it wasn’t marketed for the date night crowd. Think of it as the movie that all the ladies will go to with their girlfriends to bitch about the guys they just broke up with&#8230; or will break up with if you take them to it.</p>
<p align="center"><img src="http://media.filmschoolrejects.com/audio/kevinaudio/divbar.jpg" /></p>
<p><strong>3. <em>Brokeback Mountain </em>(2005)</strong><br />
<center><img width="400" src="http://media.filmschoolrejects.com/audio/kevinaudio/fatguyfive/brokebackmountain_fatguyfive.jpg" title="Brokeback Mountain" /></center></p>
<p>Yes, this was a groundbreaking film for many, but it just might send the wrong message if you bring your date who’s hot girl you’ve been secretly in love with for a while. She might end up considering you a “good friend” after this film, and you can spend the rest of your “relationship” getting late-night calls from her, using you as a shoulder to cry on when she breaks up with guys she actually is attracted to.</p>
<p align="center"><img src="http://media.filmschoolrejects.com/audio/kevinaudio/divbar.jpg" /></p>
<p><strong>2. <em>Twilight </em>(2008)</strong><br />
<center><img width="400" src="http://media.filmschoolrejects.com/audio/kevinaudio/fatguyfive/twilight_fatguyfive.jpg" title="Twilight" /></center></p>
<p>But you say, “Chicks dig this movie.” Ah yes, they do. But chances are you might be trying to date a teenage girl, and that’s illegal in many places. Either that, or she’s looking for a 100-year-old vampire who can’t actually have sex with her. Either way, it’s an epic fail for you.</p>
<p align="center"><img src="http://media.filmschoolrejects.com/audio/kevinaudio/divbar.jpg" /></p>
<p><strong>1. <em>Irreversible </em>(2002)</strong><br />
<center><img width="400" src="http://media.filmschoolrejects.com/audio/kevinaudio/fatguyfive/irreversible_fatguyfive.jpg" title="Irreversible" /></center></p>
<p>Just because the ladies seem to like cultured European cinema doesn’t mean this is going to be a good film for date night viewing. Some may say it’s the nine-minute rape scene in the middle of the movie. But think about this&#8230; if you survive that portion of the movie and your date is an epileptic, she just might go into a full-blown seizure at the end of the movie.</p>

<p>With the release this week of yet another Nicholas Sparks movie, we now have learned the true formula. Take a forbidden summer romance, throw in some upper-class/lower-class tension and nice picturesque shots of Savannah’s beaches, and you’re only missing one thing&#8230; </p>
<p>Like any good horror movie, a Nicholas Sparks movie would not be complete without someone dying.</p>
<p>And that got us thinking&#8230; if only every movie was written by Nicholas Sparks, who would we have liked to see bite it in other films. What follows is a fun, but hardly definitive, Fat Guy Five list!<br />
<span id="more-1617"></span></p>
<p align="center"><img src="http://media.filmschoolrejects.com/audio/kevinaudio/divbar.jpg" /></p>
<p><strong>5. Ruby Rhod (Chris Tucker), <em>The Fifth Element </em>(1997)</strong><br />
<center> <img width="400" src="http://media.filmschoolrejects.com/audio/kevinaudio/fatguyfive/christucker_fatguyfive.jpg" title="Chris Tucker" /></center></p>
<p>“Korben&#8230; Korben&#8230; Korben&#8230; Korben! Korben! Korben! Korben!! Korben!! Korben!!! KorbenKorbenKorbenKorbenKorben!!! KORBEN! KORBEN!!!” Who didn’t want to kill this guy?</p>
<p align="center"><img src="http://media.filmschoolrejects.com/audio/kevinaudio/divbar.jpg" /></p>
<p><strong>4. Jar Jar Binks, <em>Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace </em>(1999)</strong><br />
<center><img width="400" src="http://media.filmschoolrejects.com/audio/kevinaudio/fatguyfive/jarjarbinks_fatguyfive.jpg" title="Jar Jar Binks" /></center></p>
<p>Sure, this film was the first <em>Star Wars </em>movie in almost two decades. Sure, it was on the cutting edge of digital technology. But Jar Jar Binks couldn’t have been more annoying. He was the Short Round of this movie.</p>
<p align="center"><img src="http://media.filmschoolrejects.com/audio/kevinaudio/divbar.jpg" /></p>
<p><strong>3. Short Round (Ke Huy Quan), <em>Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom </em>(1984)</strong><br />
<center><img width="400" src="http://media.filmschoolrejects.com/audio/kevinaudio/fatguyfive/shortround_fatguyfive.jpg" title="Short Round" /></center></p>
<p>And speaking of Short Round&#8230; I saw this movie when I was only 12, so I identified with a kid who followed Indiana Jones around like a sick puppy. But as an adult, I see him for what he really was&#8230; a cheap grab at the interest of a 12 year old.</p>
<p align="center"><img src="http://media.filmschoolrejects.com/audio/kevinaudio/divbar.jpg" /></p>
<p><strong>2. Carmen Ibanez (Denise Richards), <em>Starship Troopers </em>(1997)</strong><br />
<center><img width="400" src="http://media.filmschoolrejects.com/audio/kevinaudio/fatguyfive/deniserichards_fatguyfive.jpg" title="Denise Richards" /></center></p>
<p>Even director Paul Verhoeven acknowledges that the decision to kill Dizzy (Dina Meyer) and keep Carmen alive was a bad idea in the long run. According to the commentary track of this film, comment cards from the test screenings said, “You killed the wrong girl!”</p>
<p align="center"><img src="http://media.filmschoolrejects.com/audio/kevinaudio/divbar.jpg" /></p>
<p><strong>1. Tyler Hawkins (Robert Pattinson), <em>Remember Me </em>(2010)</strong><br />
<center><img width="400" src="http://media.filmschoolrejects.com/audio/kevinaudio/fatguyfive/robertpattinson_fatguyfive.jpg" title="Robert Pattinson" /></center></p>
<p>Oh wait&#8230;</p>
