Idiot Boxers Review: Flashpoint, Ep: 302

TV review by Merrill Barr, co-host of The Idiot Boxers

Show: Flashpoint
Airs: CBS, Fridays, 9pm
Episode: “Never Let You Down”

Episode synopsis: After the tragic death of Lewis Young, the team attempts to cope while trying to save a kidnapped waitress.

Major developments: The team gets a new member to replace Lewis and comes to terms with his death.

What rocked: Seeing the team deal with the major loss took some time but, in the end was worth watching. The episode leads up to a powerful speech given by Jules that is a real tear-jerker. Great writing to the shows credit.

What sucked: I don’t know how I feel about this new team member. Getting past the fact that she has pretty much no role in the episode except for the final minute, she doesn’t feel nearly as strong a character as the one she is replacing. We will have to see how the rest of the season plays out.

Final thoughts: Overall, this was another good episode of Flashpoint. I just hope they develop the new character better.

What’s next: The team is called in to help control a prison riot, but one member discovers a connection between his past and one of the prisoners.
